The new thermo-elastic and very innovative PMMA powder-liquid system for bite splints and nightguards.
The material is a transparent PMMA acrylic with a thermo effect. This effect means that the splint automatically adapts to the patient's tooth situation when it is warmed up, without losing its surface hardness.
Classic PMMA plastic rethought!
uses
- primoflex CLEAR is the new and very innovative blank for nightguards
advantages
- Tension-free wearing comfort and precise fitting due to the thermo-effect
- Very durable – maximum breakage resistance through memory effect – more resistant to breakage than most conventional PMMA plastics
- High transparency for almost invisible wearing
- Very low plaque affinity
- Can be easily combined with conventional powder-liquid systems for manual corrections
- Significantly easy handling for the dentist, technician and patient thanks to the mentioned material properties

details
The NEW standard for milled bite splints!
The new, thermoelastic and thus particularly innovative PMMA powder-fluid system in the primotec product range.
The material is a transparent PMMA plastic with a thermo effect. This effect means that the splint automatically adapts to the patient's dental situation when heated, but without losing its surface hardness.
Nothing presses, nothing strains
The primoflex CLEAR bite splint is just super comfortable to wear.
In addition, the high transparency of the material is particularly pleasant for the patient, resulting in the splint becoming almost invisible in the mouth.
Particularly pleasant for the dentist and the laboratory is the fact that primoflex CLEAR can compensate for moderate inaccuracies during impression taking thanks to the thermo effect described above. This makes the material particularly suitable for intraoral scans over the entire dental arch (two quadrants).
Particularly pleasant for all concerned is the greatly increased resistance to fracture of the milled rails due to the thermal flexibility and memory effect of the primoflex CLEAR material. As a result, broken splints and their often costly remaking are largely a thing of the past. This significantly increases the cost-effectiveness and precision of bite splints.
CONCLUSION: excited patients – pleased dentists – relaxed technicians – due to primoflex CLEAR nightguards from primotec

working procedurethe workflows for standard applications
Workflow in detail - pack pressing technique
- Prepare the model as usual, measure it and mark the tooth equator. Since primoflex CLEAR is a thermo-flexible material, the splint can be designed minimally over the tooth equator.
- The splint to be manufactured is waxed up with wax (e.g. with pink plate wax) in the articulator, taking chewing movements into account, and the model is embedded in a cuvette. Now chill the required amount of powder in the refrigerator. (Both components should be chilled before mixing.)
- Isolate all visible plaster parts of the investment with primosep (primotec). As soon as the insulation has dried, the counter can be made using the modeled wax splint. When the counter plaster has fully set, the entire flask should be warmed in a warm water bath. This makes it easier to open the two cuvette halves.
- Remove the wax from the modeled splint, boil the model and the counter clean, water and insulate again with primosep. TIP: Severely undercut areas and interdental spaces should be sufficiently blocked out so that the splint can be removed more easily after completion without damaging the model!
- Remove the liquid from the refrigerator immediately before using. IMPORTANT: Observe the exact mixing ratio!
- Measure the primoflex CLEAR material in the dosing cups (take the liquid with the help of the enclosed pipette), combine it in a separate rubber mixing cup and spread it very quickly bubble-free for approx. 5-10 seconds and leave it covered.+
- As soon as primoflex CLEAR has a doughy consistency after approx. 5 minutes, the acrylic in the flask is placed on the row of teeth and the upper part of the flask is put on. Any visible white dots in the mixed dough are production-related and are no longer visible after polymerisation.
- Now quickly screw the cuvette under the press and then polymerize for at least 45 minutes in a water bath at 2 bar and 50°C (maximum 53°C!).
- The cuvette must have cooled down completely before opening. This is achieved by placing it in a cold water bath for about 15 minutes.
- Now carefully lift the splint from the model and finish and polish as usual.
TIP: Before removing the model - just like generally before inserting it into the patient's mouth - the splint should be made slightly flexible with warm water.
