  primotec phaser

The incentive in developing the primotec phaser, a pulsed micro arc welding unit was to make dental welding accessible to a wide community of users.

Consequently the primotec phaser is suited for all types of dental welding jobs, no matter if it is for new restorations or for repairs.

The range of application equals at least that of a laser welding unit. Inert gas channeled from the hand piece direct to the welding joint during "phasing" keeps the resulting welding spots and seams clean and oxide-free.

Unlike soldering, the welding zone of the primotec phaser affected by heat is so small, that welding can easily be carried out close to veneers or acrylic saddles. For example, it is possible to weld fixed-removable dentures without disassembling the restoration. As there is no problematic solder involved, multiple materials and associated problems such as difference of potential, corrosion, as well as resulting health hazards for the patient, are avoided right from the start. The best possible biocompatibility is guaranteed.

Since introducing the first primotec phaser pulsed micro arc welding unit, the mx 1 in 2003, the need developed for lower cost variations on the one hand, and for more convenience and power reserve on the other.

Introducing the phaser ec1 - reduced to essentials, and the phaser as1 - the high-end phaser, accommodated these demands.

The adjustable power and impulse duration allows all phaser models exact control over welding spot diameter and depth of penetration.

All units offer absolute convenience of handling thanks to freedom of the workplace (no chamber required), as well as flexible use of the hand piece - free to move, either in the hand piece stand or hand piece arm (dependent on type).

All available lenses - 3 x magnification to 4 x -20 x stereo zoom microscope - are fitted with an electronic shutter, triggered exactly by the respective control unit.

The welding process is fully automated: place the tungsten electrode on the welding spot, the joint is flooded with inert gas, the electrode retracts and the welding arc is triggered.

As the inert gas covers exactly the area required - without unnecessary flooding - all phaser models have a very low gas consumption of max. 4 l/minute. There are no maintenance costs and minimum running costs.

Designed for simple welding or fixing of all dental jobs, the "little" phaser is the best alternative for modern and innovative smaller laboratories and in-house laboratories.

The primotec phaser ec1 is an attractive and especially compact pulsed micro arc welding unit and has an eight-step individually and independently adjustable power and pulse duration control.

The affordable introduction to dental welding is available in two versions:

- with 3 x magnifying lens

- with standard stereo microscope (10 x magnification)

  primotec phaser mx1

For years, the mx1 has been the most popular model of the phaser product range offering more features than the phaser ec1.

It includes five pre-set basic programes for gold (Au), cobalt chrome (co-cr), hybrid-welding (such as precious to non precious), titanium (Ti) and orthodontics.

In addition, there are 10 independently adjustable power and pulse settings which allow individual adjustment of penetration depth and welding spot diameter.

Equipping the unit with a 4 x - 20 x stereo zoom microscope pro-

vides extra convenience. At the turn of a hand, the LCD "change control component" shutter allows the unit to be used as a conventional microscope.

The welding hand piece can be used either in the hand piece holding arm, the rotary stand, or in the hand, allowing comprehensive flexibility at the workbench. Depending on the situation, the 3-way switch is used to choose between the high-power halogen lighting integrated in the handpiece arm, or the halogen spotlight on the microscope stand.

The successful primotec phaser mx1 is available in two versions:

- with a standard stereo microscope (10 x magnification)

- with a zoom stereo microscope (4 x -20 x magnification)

  primotec phaser as1

Developed for customers who accept nothing but the best, the phaser as1 marks the pinnacle of pulsed micro arc welding technology from primotec.

14 power and pulse settings make dental welding tasks such as delicate margin extensions or even deep welding of precious alloys child's play.

The dynamic frequency button switches to maximum pulse frequency, allowing fast welding where needed.

The simplicity of use sets new standards including 15 preset pulse shaped welding programes accessible directly from the control panel on the microscope, along with all other phaser as1 functions.

The diamond drive - a motor with diamond disc for sharpening the tips of the tungsten electrodes is standard and located within easy reach behind the microscope head and therefore "available at all times".

Convenient and versatile - the primotec phaser as1's new zoom stereo microscope, mounted on a stable, supportable swivel arm, can be used alternately at two adjacent workplaces.

The LCD change control component shutter beneath the microscope's lens allows flexible use of the microscope as a conventional microscope whenever the phaser as1 is not in use.

The microscope's lighting system is a further highlight. High-power halogen lighting provides perfect antiglare illumination of the workplace (without shadows).
